What is Rhinoplasty?
Rhino “nose” and plasty “to shape, mold, or form”, Rhinoplasty and commonly (Nose Job) is the term given to a surgery of the nose for improving the appearance of the nose by changing, reshaping, correcting, or reconstructing the form the nose.
Usually Primary rhinoplasty is used to denote that it is the first operation ever done on that nose . Because some patients request further changes to their nose

How does Rhinoplasty performed?
Plastic surgeons prefer to use general anesthesia. however, after explaining the details of the procedure carefully we let the patients decide what type of anesthesia they would like .
Surgeons have two main techniques to do the operation:
1-Close Rhinoplasty
Some surgeons prefer to perform the rhinoplasty by making cuts inside the nostrils and working on the underlying nasal structures through these incisions, and this approach takes nearly 2 hours.
2-Open Rhinoplasty
Many surgeons prefer to perform rhinoplasty by elevating the skin from the underlying structures, that allows direct visualization of the nasal structures and then altering the bone and cartilage that makes up the structural aspects of the nose, The skin is then returned on the nasal structures and the nose is left to heal, and it may take up to 4 hours.

After rhinoplasty surgery?
At the end of the operation a prolonged numbing medication is used to ensure the patient will not have any pain after he leaves the hospital .
Usually a splint is used on the nose for 6 days. your nose will be swollen for few days, and shouldn’t be blown, you should avoid any strenuous activities or exercise for two or three weeks after surgery because it may increase your swelling.
Also avoid excessive heat or sun exposure for one month after surgery.
Many of rhinoplasty patients have some bruising. It may takes about six months before all little traces fade, and the nose will definitely look better when the splint comes off after surgery.

The cost of rhinoplasty vary according to surgeon skill, the country, surgical setting, and the complexity or extent of surgical procedure, unfortunately cosmetic changes are not covered by any health insurance .
